Kalākaua Gardens treats every resident like royalty
so that you can enjoy stress-free living. That’s why
we created the new Aloha Advantage Plan to lower
your monthly rental rate.
Here’s how it works
When you enroll in the Aloha Advantage Plan your
monthly rent is reduced by $1,400. That saves you
money in the long run. Your deposit can be used
to pay your monthly expenses down the road
when you need more care.
Making your money work for you
Your deposit at Kalākaua Gardens helps you realize
a better return than investing in a low-interest
savings vehicle, such as a certificate of deposit.
This is also a safer alternative. Investing in the
stock market in a down economic cycle can put
your hard-earned cash at considerable risk.
Your deposit is refunded back to you
Kalākaua Gardens offers a full spectrum of senior
living services all under one roof. After 2 years,
your deposit can be accessed to draw funds to pay
your monthly charges from (less a 10%
administration fee) while still taking advantage of
the monthly discount until the deposit balance has
been used. If needed you will be given priority
admission into our Skilled Nursing Care programs.

What is the Aloha Advantage Plan?
A special payment option where an entry fee
is paid to Kalākaua Gardens in exchange for a
reduced monthly rent for our residents who
enroll in the program.
I want to age in place and not have to
adjust to living somewhere else. Is there
any guarantee of being able to stay at
Kalākaua Gardens as I need more care?
Fortunately, Kalākaua Gardens has the entire
spectrum of senior living services all under one
roof. Every effort is made to accommodate an
“aging in place” environment.
What happens with the Aloha Advantage
Plan, if I need skilled/intermediate care?
If your needs require a long term higher level of
care in the nursing care section, your rental
discount will no longer apply, but you will be
able to draw the funds from your deposit to pay
for your monthly charges.
What is Skilled Nursing/Intermediate
Care?
SNF/ICF is the higher level of care offered
Kalākaua Gardens and located on the 4th and
5th floor. Residents who need rehabilitation
after a hospital stay, or for those residents
whose needs go beyond what assisted living is
capable of managing.
Does my deposit earn interest?
The deposit for the Aloha Advantage Plan does
not generate interest.
Aloha Advantage Plan Frequently Asked Questions
How does the refund process work?
Details are found in the residency agreement,
but in general terms, the 90% deposit acts like a
prepaid credit card, to be applied to your
monthly charges anytime after 2 years. Your
monthly discount will continue to be valid until
the deposit money has been depleted. Lump
sum payouts are possible and would take 180
days for reimbursement. The lump sum option
would disqualify from receiving a $1400
discount if this option is selected.
Is the Aloha Advantage Plan available for
couples?
Yes, under the Aloha Advantage Plan, couples
are eligible to enroll. The 90% portion of the fee
would be available to draw from after 2 years.

What needs to be established in advance
so that the remaining deposit goes to the
family if my parent has passed away?
Kalākaua Gardens advises each resident
and designated power of attorney to make
appropriate arrangements for end of life estate
planning. Kalākaua Gardens will honor the legal
financial arrangements established by each
resident and their designated responsible party.
What kind of notice do I need to give if I
no longer want to participate in the Aloha
Advantage Plan?
A resident participating in the Aloha Advantage
Plan is required to give a 60 day notice.
